Robbie was released in March of this year (2o14) and was released in three different variants. The first being the regular blood stained Pink Robbie, this Robbie is widely available and if you pre-ordered it from Amiami.com it also came with a small tin of Green Tea. The second variant was of a Blue Robbie and is initially exclusive to Mamegyorai in Japan, limited to 3000. The final variant was only available to Figure King Magazine in Japan. This variant of Robbie features different box art and the statue itself contains no blood at all. Bloodless Robbie is limited to only 300 pieces.
Fortunately for myself I have managed to get my hands on the Pink and Blue Robbie statues, with the bloodness version on its way also (mini review to follow upon arrival).
When you first open the box you can see that the tabs inside show instructions on how to put the included weapons into his hands. Included is a small sheet of clear plastic which you must wrap around the weapons before placing them into Robbie’s hand. This is to avoid the flocking being removed from his hands. The lid of the box also has a small card which contains the same image on the back of the box and information about the Sculptors and Robbie once again.
The cardboard insert that is also a backing for the statue features the map of Silent Hill. The Pink version has blood splatters across it with the Lakeside Amusement Park circled. The Blue version however is almost covered entire in blood and is barely view-able.
The colour of his bowtie will either be green or yellow dependant on which Robbie you own but both will be blood stained. The buttons on his overalls are gold and shiny and although Robbie has blood all over him, these are untouched. His overalls also have a zip at the back right above a small round fuzzy tail.
As with Heather and the Bubble Head Nurses, Robbie also comes with a steel pipe, but lets be honest, a chainsaw is much cooler right?
The weapons need to have plastic wrapped around them before placing them into Robbie's hand, this is to avoid the flocking from coming off. Although even with the plastic I found it difficult to place the weapons into his hand.
I must admit that out of all the Silent Hill statues released by Gecco so far, the Robbie statues are by far my favorite. The amount of detail is outstanding and the adding flocking effect makes this statue a real must have for any fan. The initial Robbie statue design did have a more splattered blood effect across his face whereas the official release features a more symmetrical design and although there have been a few complaints because I this, I really do not mind his new look.
If you're still to purchase a Silent Hill statue this is definitely the one to buy to kick start your collection. After taking pictures for this review I ended up placing the Robbie's back into their boxes as they really do look great in or out of them.
