Silent Hill 3 movie?

After an email was sent in regards to a possible third Silent Hill film the producer, Don Carmody replied with this!
We may get to see a third Silent Hill movie afterall! :D
Excited? Or Hate this?

well, if there's going to be a third SH movie hope to be a remake and not another non movie game, Michael j basset is not a good film director

I love all silent hill games played th all ended them all .."yea it's that serious" lol. My thoughs on the third film is as long as they have Guillermo de toro produce and direct it I think the film will do be the best of the other two and it will make more money than both combine world wide .. Let's make this happen ...

I played all the silent hill games for ps2 & ps3. Its my fav. game oh man and I love the silent hill movies The 2nd one was awesome so I hope they make a silent hill 3 and I hope its even better.

I would love to see another silent hill movie with a theme of SH4 or Downpour, and definently needs to bring out more deaths and awsome creatures

I hope so but will Radha mitchell be returning as rose because at the end of silent hill revelation chris (Sean bean) stayed in silent hill to try and find her and heather and Vincent met travis so yeah I think it would be a good idea to continue rather than leave fans hanging.

Silent Hill: Revelation was terrible! They skipped the second game and completely fucked up the story line for Revelation. Just terrible. We need someone who has played the Silent Hill games to make the next movie.

Well I've never played the games bought one I think silent hill 3 and it got boring very quickly but with the films I seen them both and I'm a horror nut anything with blood guts and gore are my thing Michael j Bassett did a very good film even if it's not game related but would you really want a game movie when you've played the game and know what's coming I'm just saying look at resident evil movie series compared to the games not one really corresponds any of the games apart from 1 but that was to be expected. So just think that sometimes it's good for a movie not to correspond to a game

SH 1 and 2 were great films. Far better than the resident evil franchise which just keeps on churning out sequels. The SH films payed more tribute to the games than the resis have in my opinion. Really want a third movie.

i really want a 3rd instalment to silent hill it is amazing but if there is a 3rd movie in the works it should be more like the 1st film because the second film revelations was terrible i mean what happened to the horror?
the second movie was all action but the 1st movie felt like a true horror movie it was very creepy and created a lot of tension.

Yeah the second movie had no horror element in it. Skipping key moments that make Silent Hill 3 what it is shows the lack of dedication the director had for making the movie as amazing as I had been anticipating it to be. I'm scared for this new one they might have coming out.

i will hope for this possibility. all i want is for the writers to dig deeper into the PSYCHOLOGICAL, deeper translations and incorporation to the story. let us not forget the fearful beginnings " Fear of the blood tends to create fear for the flesh". all characters in silent hill strives towards that common fear of fears.

If they make a third movie i think it'll be something like silent hill 2 because at the end of the movie he tells heather that he's gonna look for her mother the same thing James does in SH 2

But also theres the part where vincent and heather leave with travis in the semitruck and after thay leav theres a cop car then a prison transport bus so it might be downpour also

I think is great and exciting that another silent Hill movie will be showing I been loving the games but I would always wonder how will it feel if it's in real life and if it's true about like the part from silent Hill revelation were the prison bus went through silent Hill like I would wanna see what will happens next with that also Sharon dad looking for rose I would love to see that to it will be like silent hill down por for the prison bus and silent Hill 2 husband looking for his wife in silent Hill that will be so amazing I hope you guys do end up making this movie I would probably scream with excitement haha.

If they make another they can't use SH2 game cuz***SPOILER ALERT***
At the end of the game u find out you murdered your wife. Wouldn't tie in good. SH Downpour is the next best step imo

I honestly have to say silent hill series is one of my favorite survival horrors. With that being said #1 goes to Silent Hill 2. My favorite of all time. If there going to make another silent hill it needs to be a copy if SH2

Ok, let's be honest - the Silent Hill movies aren't very good.
Don't get me wrong, I love the games...hang on, let me correct that: I love the 2nd game, the others are ok.
Christophe Gans really nailed the 'look' of Silent Hill in the first movie, but the story was a bit of a mess. Sean Bean was terrible (he is just not a good actor!)
The trouble with both movies is the source material. If you remove the interactive element from the franchise and all the dread and atmosphere that stems from it, what you are left with is a pretty nonsense storyline about trying to birth a God - a rubbish premise!

If they made another Silent Hill film it should be a stand-alone film based on the 2nd game. The story is deeply psychological and quite strange. A bit like the film 'Jacob's Ladder' meets TV series 'Twin Peaks' but with added Pyramid-Head (Jacob's Ladder' & 'Twin Peaks' were both inspirations for Silent Hill in the first place, watch them if you haven't already!)

James Sunderland is looking for his dead wife in a misty town called Silent Hill. That's pretty weird to start with.
The truth is that James actually killed his terminally ill wife, but his psychological defence mechanisms have erased the memory from his mind with denial. Pyramid-Head is the representation of his guilt (and denial) which is why he pursues him relentlessly. In the 3rd act of the game when James remembers what he did, Pyramid-Head kills himself because he no longer serves a purpose (James is no longer in denial) - this is why Pyramid-Head should NOT appear in any other game/film/story - it was James' personal demon!

Another great aspect of S.H 2 is Maria. She is a slutty, sexy version of his wife (they have the same face) - this psychologically represents sexual-repression: James' wife Mary (similar name) was ill for a long time and James' sexual urges have been supressed for a long time. Maria is a metaphor for these urges based on his dead wife!

Then there's the weird girl in the game (is it Angela?) Anyway she is a victim of sexual abuse by her own father and she is damaged goods. She burnt her family home whilst her father slept. Did you notice how her demon in the game is a burnt bed with writhing bodies under the blackened bedsheet - this both represents her father sexually abusing her and the remains of the burning! Also note how she see's fire everywhere in the game where there is none in reality!

I will leave you to consider these aspects of Silent Hill 2 (play it again if you missed all this, you will see it more clearly now)
This is why Silent Hill 2 is the only game in the series that matters. It is deep, dark, psychological & disturbing, but uses metaphors instead of spelling it out to it's audience.
What a movie this would make eh?
Now do you see why the 2 that were made have missed the point and are, ultimately, a bit crap?

I would like a game remake of Silent Hill 2 on PS4 & a proper, mature, psychological movie of it too! It could be the one of the best horror films ever!
It's not likely to happen, but I can dream..!

I'd be more than happy to help the writers with the script. After all, they've got it wrong so far!
Just don't continue with the Sean Bean storyline or it just becomes a bit like the Resident Evil movies - ongoing nonsense that gets sillier & further away from the source material.

Shame that the Kojima/Del Toro 'Silent Hills' game got cancelled eh? Konami deserve to fail & go under for the way they have treated Hideo Kojima. Who are they now without him? Idiots.

I am a huge Silent Hill fan. I''ve played and beaten 8 of the Silent Hill games 3 times each. I watched both Silent Hill movies when they first out in the theatre. I bought both movies when they where available. I hope there will be a 3rd Silent Hill movie. I will be one of the first to watch it and own it.

If there will be a third movie, it should be based upon a prequel before Silent Hill 1. Origins would be a great place to start for the third movie.
