silent Hill: Lost MESSAGES
Silent Hill: Lost Messages was the original name before Silent Hill Paradise was born!
The idea behind Lost Messages was to create a online fan fiction experience. A character was created and through social media would upload messages. The viewer would then read their messages and begin to figure out how they got there, why the were there and witness their ending. The viewer could then interact via comments. With each new message more details were revealed. Documents and images were uploaded until the finale!
Lost Messages was created many years before via Myspace but was later closed down. On Facebook it ran for over a year and was very successful! A website dedicated to the lost messages was created to showcase all past messages. As Lost Messages eventually ended and Paradise came along the website was removed for public viewing. It has now been reborn via Paradise! You can read all past messages right here!
As to whether the Lost Messages will ever return is yet to be decided.
Along with the Lost Messages a Silent Hill Carnival was also created! The Carnival was a interactive online game where anyone could get involved.
Once again it was created through the Facebook page. Individuals who were following the page were chosen to become the next guest/s and then became part of the Carnival. With each new update came a question. The update was from the point of view of one of the guests and would offer a multiple choice question/option at the end. The option given by those taking part would determine the status of the next update. For example:
You enter a dark room and can hear something being dragged across the floor. In front of you, you can just make out what appears to be two holes in the floor. Do you take the left hole or the right hole?
The Carnival ran twice throughout the Lost Messages time on Facebook. Promotional online posters were also created! These can be seen below! More previous messages to come!
